Hello, My name is Shawn Meyer and I am a student and Certified Instructor under SiFu Charles A. Reed, who is a Certified Instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto. I have been training under Mr. Reed since 1993 in Jeet Kune Do and have been an instructor for him since 1996. I have had the opportunity to experience many types of martial arts in class and at seminars held at the Reed Academy of Martial Arts. Some of these arts include Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Bando, Savate, Silate, Chinese Boxing, Kali, Lameco Escrima, Kenpo, Jiu-Jitsu, Shoot Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Jun Fan Kickboxing, and Western Style Boxing.
I have also had the honor of meeting some top instructors at the Reed Academy including Guro Dan Inosanto, Professeur Salem Assli, Jean Jacques Machado, Punong Guro Edgar Sulite, and Dr. G, founder of Bondo, and Siya Dave Osbourne, an instructor under Dr. G. The Reed Academy of Martial Arts has been an excellent place to train. I have experienced many things to help me practically defend myself and my loved ones. The most important thing that the Reed Academy has given me is life skills and how to be open to everything I am exposed to in daily life. I have learned that there is much more to martial arts than fighting. Mr. Reed has helped bring out the best in myself and has helped make me a more confident individual.
I would like to thank Guro Dan Inosanto for giving SiFu Charles Reed guidance in Jeet Kune Do and in Mr. Reed's personal life.You have helped develop a great individual who has changed my life forever. I am forever greatful to the Reed Academy of Martial Arts and to Guro Dan Inosanto.

I have studied martial arts under other instructors throughout the world that Sifu Dan Inosanto has introduced me to. These instructors include Adjrun Chai Suriste (Muay Thai Boxing Champion from Thailand), Sensi Yorinaga Nakamura (First Shoot Wrestling Champion of Japan), Professor Salem Assli (Savate Silver gloveist from France), Pendeker Paul De Thouraus (Founder of Buti Negar Silat from Indonesia), Punung Guru Edgar Sulite (Founder of Lameco Eskrima Kali from the Philippines), Jean Jacques Machado (Brazilian Jujitsu Champion from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil), Pa Herman Sawanda (Mande Muda Silat).
Today I continue to learn from all the above instructors for their wealth of knowledge is never ending. For without them, I would not be where I am today. I will strive to improve and grow with seeking out knowledge until the day I die.

I’ve been with the Reed Academy since 1997, learning Bruce Lee’s Gung Fu & Jeet Kune Do Concepts. Since 2000, I’ve been teaching classes for Sifu Charles Reed, who is certified under Guro Dan Inosanto. Sifu Reed has taught me a lot about myself, both physically and mentally. In the years with the Reed Academy, I have become good friends with the instructors, Sifu Reed, Sifu Jon Meyer (certified under Guro Inosanto) & Sifu Shawn Meyer (certified under Guro Inosanto), along with the students. I have achieved the rank of Green Glove in Boxe Francaise Savate under Professeur Salem Assli. I achieved Blue Belt ranking in Brazilian JiuJitsu under Jean Jacques Machado in November 2003. Currently I’m working on becoming a certified instructor under Guro Inosanto. Through the guidance of Sifu Reed, Sifu Jon Meyer & Sifu Shawn Meyer, I hope to achieve this high honor. I would like to thank Sifu Reed for the opportunities & knowledge that he has given me to accomplish my goals in the martial arts and in life. I hope that I will be able to pass on the knowledge given to me by this great man, Sifu Reed. I would also like to thank the Reed Academy for the opportunities to train with some of the top martial artists in the world by hosting annual seminars. The seminars hosted by the Reed Academy that I have attended include Guro Dan Inosanto (Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts, Win Chun, Silat), Professor Salem Assli (Boxe Francaise Savate), and Jean Jacques Machado (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu).
Hello, My name is Jon Meyer and I became involved in martial arts at the age of seventeen when I met SiFu/Guro Charles Reed. I remember watching class before signing up at the Greenhills location, thinking to myself "WOW, this is where I want to be.". I signed up as a student and trained every day that the school was open! Then the Reed Academy of Martial Arts (RAMA) moved to the Mount Healthy location which was a much larger facility. After approximately one year of training, I was offered to be an assistant instructor at the Mount Healthy location. I gladly accepted the responsibilities of an instructor/student at RAMA. At the present time (and always) I am a student under SiFu/Guro Charles Reed at the Sharonville location and hold rank of Phase Four Level Two.
My proudest moment in martial arts was in 1999 when I became certified in Jun Fan Gung Fu and the Filipino Martial Arts under the most heart warmingand humble man I know, Sifu/Guro Dan Inosanto.There are no words that can describe the appreciation I have for this gentleman! I also hold the rank of yellow glove in Boxe Francaise Savate under Professeur Salem Assli.
I would like to thank my friend Sifu/Guro Charles Reed for all that you have done for me. Without your friendship, guidance and your love for martial arts, who knows where I would be! The academy that you provide to all of us has been such a positive influence on my life and I thank you!.
